Rosacea is a relatively common long-term skin condition which mostly affects the face with episodes of flushing, causing the skin to turn red. In more severe cases, the skin can become thicker and enlarge on or around the nose. There are a number of causes and triggers, some of which can be psychological and others as a result of allergens or exposure to certain environments.Rosacea affects 1 in 10 people in the UK, yet many do not know they can treat it.Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition where small blood vessels in the facial skin become visible.Symptoms begin with flushing, red spots and can turn into persistent redness (couperose). In very severe cases, the skin can thicken and enlarge on and around the nose. While the exact cause of rosacea is unknown, several triggers have been identified that may make the symptoms appear or worsen, e.g. exposure to sunlight, stress, alcohol, spicy food. There is no cure for Rosacea, but there are ways now to treat symptoms, keep flare ups under control and improve the appearance of the affected skin. Dermalex offers a steroid-free cream that not only relieves your Rosacea symptoms, but also helps in preventing new Rosacea flare ups from occurring. Rosacea cream works especially for type 1 rosacea but could also have significant effects for type 2. Managing RosaceaKeeping the disorder under controlIf you suffer from rosacea & couperose, you can treat the symptoms, but you can also try doing a few things to reduce or not stimulate couperose.Skin careTreat the skin carefully. Wash the skin with luke-warm water and use a soap-free washing lotion. Carefully pat the skin dry, do not rub. A dry to very dry skin is often one of the symptoms of couperose. You should therefore use a greasy hydrating cream or ointment on your skin. Try a hypoallergenic and/or perfume-free day cream.Avoid sudden and significant changes in temperatureToo hot a bath or food that is too hot can stimulate facial redness.Protect yourself against the sunThe sun is one of the factors most likely to induce couperose. When sunbathing use a sun cream with a high protection factor in addition to Dermalex Rosacea & Couperose. Sunbeds should be avoided.Pay attention to your dietAvoid alcohol, hot drinks like tea or coffee and highly spiced food. These are all possible causes of couperose.
Do not use the Dermalex products on open wounds. Dermalex Repair Rosacea Cream should not be used on children under age six due to a possible burning sensation. A specialist should be consulted in case of pregnancy or if more than 40% of the body is affected. Discontinue use of cream in case of allergic reactions or lasting irritation.
Gently clean the affected area with luke-warm water. Apply a thin layer of Dermalex Rosacea & Couperose Cream to the affected area. Repeat this action twice a day. The results vary according to the person and skin type. However, clinical studies have shown that after 30 minutes the skin is already 18% better hydrated and redness has diminished by 44%. Visible spider veins are reduced by 21% after treatment for 4 weeks and by 34% after treatment for 8 weeks.
