Sodium Bicarbonate Ear Drops gently softens ear wax prior to syringing by by a doctor or nurse.
Avoid touching the ear with the dropper. Never insert the dropper or any solid object into your ear. Allow a few minutes for the frops to reach the eardrum by keeping the head tilted, then plug the ear loosely with cotton wool. Use the drops twice a day for up to 7 days. Store dropper in the bottle. The doctor, nurse or specialist may give you other specific instructions for using the drops depending on the severity of your ear wax problem. You should follow the instructions to ensure successful removal of wax.
Directions Adults, the elderly and children: Tilt the head sideways with the affected ear uppermost. Place 3 to 4 drops into the ear using the dropper provided. Keep the head tilted down for a few minutes so that the liquid will spread and settle into the ear then plug the ear loosely with cotton wool. Use the drop twice a day for up to 7 days. Children under 5 years should receive direct medical supervision.
